War Room is a great utility land to provide additional card advantage in mono color decks but with Shelodred in play, instead of us losing 1 life when activating this ability, we gain 1 life.Well of Lost Dreams is an excellent mana sink when used with Sheoldred as it allows us to effectively draw as many cards as we have mana available that we are willing to spend.Underworld Dreams offers some redundancy for Sheoldred's second triggered ability and when in play alongside Sheoldred, our opponents lose 3 life whenever they draw a card.Geier Reach Sanitarium is a repeatable utility land that forces all players to loot a card which can contribute to draining more with Sheoldred.Memory Jar is a colorless wheel effect that will allow us to gain 14 life and make our opponents lose 14 life when used in tandem with Sheoldred.Black Market Connections is a remarkably effective resource that's extremely potent, versatile and effective in virtually any Black deck as a value engine but the life gain Sheoldred offers us makes it easier to be more aggressive when selecting modes.
Witch of the Moors has a triggered ability that will trigger every turn we control Sheoldred (just from our draw step) in a manner that disrupts our opponents creatures while providing graveyard recursion for us. Greed and Vilis, Broker of Blood both enable us to draw additional cards at a good rate without having to lose any life while Sheoldred is in play. This card would be especially strong in tandem with ] effects. Necrologia basically allows us to draw as many cards as we want at our end step without losing life (but instead gaining life while Sheoldred is in play). It's also a great disruption tool against combo deck strategies and other decks that plot and scheme over the course of several turns to win. Teferi's Puzzle Box would be one of the strongest pieces to cause numerous triggers with Sheoldred's abilities. Dark Deal is the only mono Black wheel effect that I know of and would often function as a card that makes our opponents lose ~10 life and making us gain ~10 life in addition to the wheel effect with Sheoldred in play. Then if there are three or more landmark counters on it, remove those counters, transform Treasure Map, and create three colorless Treasure artifact tokens with ', Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color.' 1.5 /10. This would cause that opponent to draw dozens of cards and lose scores of life. Peer into the Abyss would oftentimes eliminate a single opponent from the game if we are able to resolve it while Sheoldred is still in play by targeting an opponent with it. To get the conversation started, here is a list of cards I think work well with Sheoldred. What are some mono black or colorless identity cards that have great synergy with Sheoldred, The Apocalypse? But I'm very interested in what a deck built around Sheoldred, The Apocalypse would look like. Perhaps most notably Blue/X and Red/X wheel decks. Most of the discussion around this card has been how it can bolster various decks in the 99. The recently revealed Sheoldred, The Apocalypse from Dominaria United is very intriguing to me and I believe is going to be the catalyst to finally push me to build a mono Black commander deck. The triggered ability is put onto the stack after you have already drawn your card for the turn.I am trying to get out of my comfort zone as a player and I haven't built a mono black Commander deck in several years. You do not draw two cards and then discard two cards. This means that you first draw one card and discard one card, and then do it again.
If there are two Anvils on the battlefield, they trigger and resolve separately. However, if those permanents entered the battlefield in the opposite order, your maximum hand size would be two. For example, if you put Null Profusion (an enchantment that says your maximum hand size is two) onto the battlefield and then put Anvil of Bogardan onto the battlefield, you’ll have no maximum hand size. If multiple effects modify your hand size, apply them in timestamp order. If the draw part of the effect is skipped due to a replacement effect, the discard part of the effect is not skipped. At the beginning of each player's draw step, that player draws an additional card, then discards a card.
